Matt Perry of Emirates Golf Club to Join Augusta National’s Golf Course Maintenance Team at the 2025 Masters
Monday 7th April 2025; Dubai, United Arab Emirates: Emirates Golf Club is proud to announce that its Golf Course Superintendent, Matthew Perry, has been selected to join the Golf Course Maintenance Team at Augusta National Golf Club for the 2025 Masters. This remarkable opportunity places Perry among an elite group of international professionals contributing to the staging of one of golf’s most iconic events.
The Hero Dubai Desert Classic at Emirates Golf Club has long set the benchmark for course conditioning on the DP World Tour. The Majlis Course, with its immaculate presentation and consistently challenging setup, has drawn praise from the world’s top players year after year, thanks in no small part to Perry’s leadership and expertise.
This exceptional invitation comes on the back of Emirates Golf Club being selected to host the prestigious Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship in October 2025, a tournament jointly organised by The R&A and Augusta National Golf Club. As part of the lead-up to the event, Perry was invited to volunteer at the Masters, gaining behind-the-scenes access and working directly with Augusta’s legendary Agronomy team.
“This is an incredible opportunity, and I’m truly grateful to be part of the team during Masters week,” said Perry. “To work alongside the crew at Augusta National and observe how they prepare and maintain the course at such a high level is an experience like no other. I’m particularly looking forward to learning more about their operation, exploring their approach to turf management, and seeing the property and grass types up close.”
Perry will be directly responsible for overseeing the third green during tournament play, offering him a unique perspective on the attention to detail and precision required at the very highest level of the sport.
“Working within a major tournament will, of course, help me understand how they do things and explore whether there are elements we could adapt or implement here,” he adds. “I’m excited to be part of the team for the week and grateful for the opportunity.”
As the 2025 Masters draws near, Perry’s involvement marks a proud moment not only for his own professional journey but also for Emirates Golf Club, reinforcing its reputation for excellence in course preparation. His experience at Augusta will offer valuable insights that can further enhance the conditioning and presentation of the Majlis Course.
Widely regarded as the most anticipated major of the year, the Masters provides a unique platform for knowledge-sharing at the very highest level of the sport. Perry’s time with the team at Augusta National promises to be a significant development opportunity, one that reflects both personal dedication and the Club’s ongoing commitment to advancing the game across the region.
