Luke Tidmarsh
Head Academy Professional
Growing up in Lancashire, England as a keen sportsman, Luke turned his attention to golf at the age of 15. After just 18 months he was a single figure handicapper and was made the Junior Captain of his golf club. Keen to pursue a career in golf, Luke went on to read the Applied Golf Management Studies Degree at the University of Birmingham.
Luke completed the degree course in 2014 and is proficient in all of the latest golfing theories and provides a holistic approach to coaching, thanks to an education in: golf psychology, swing biomechanics, equipment technology and coaching behavior.
Having spent time working in Abu Dhabi over the summer of 2013, Luke has also learnt coaching methods from the head professional of the Abu Dhabi National and Saadiyat Beach Golf Club courses. In 2014 Luke graduated with an Upper 2nd Class BSc Honors degree and travelled to Egypt to coach at The Allegria Golf Club. Here Luke was able to develop a number of players of varying ages, abilities and nationalities using equipment including 3D analysis and SAM PuttLab. With this experience and level of education Luke has a variety of techniques to improve your performance, and with his friendly and relaxed disposition you will feel comfortable absorbing his advice.
Luke believes that the key to being a successful golfer is to create a movement that you can be consistent with, maintain and be supremely confident with. The preconceived notion that a golf lesson could initially make your performances worse is one that Luke firmly wants to disprove and is excited to share his vast golfing knowledge with you.
